Lawyer magazine: ‘Advocates for a better world’

In the December issue of Lawyer magazine, there is an interview with us about New Paradigm’s start, mission and approach.

‘New Paradigm chooses whom it will and will not assist, but does not distinguish between good or bad. It does distinguish between benevolent and unwilling,’ says Hoekzema. ‘We prefer to work with organizations that still have some way to go – so they are not necessarily the best student in the class in the area of climate or data protection, for example – but that do have the intention to get serious about it.’ Faber adds, “That’s where we can really make a difference. Our office wants to stand beside the client. Sustainability and climate are a new area. For organizations it also means learning and making mistakes. Lawyers can offer a lot in this process as a sparring partner. Thinking along, for example, in integrating sustainability goals into strategy and governance and support in climate transition policy. Law and business strategy are ever closer together on these topics.’
