Moderne risico’s en het milieurecht

The world, and with it the effect humans have on the environment, has changed dramatically over the past 50 years. Environment has become a complex of interrelated problems that are both local in nature and also need to be understood on a global scale. Modern environmental risks are larger and more complicated than before, and the consequences are already visible globally. With the changing concept of environment, has also come greater awareness: broader coalitions with a collaboration of old and new actors now play the leading role. What is clear in any case is that we will need all available instruments to reduce environmental risks. The role of environmental law in the coming years will be to answer the questions that arise in the process. The jurist will have to ask himself what role law can (or rather, should) play to solve the problems of our time. How do we do justice to the world around us?
