Douwe de Lange

Legal Researcher - Expert in (digital) human rights and liability law

Douwe advises on digital law (including AVG, DSA, and AI-Act), human rights and liability law. He is involved in both advisory practice and legal proceedings. In addition to his studies, Douwe held various positions at Utrecht University. For example, he was a research assistant for the EU-funded INFO-LEG project, where he contributed to research on the risks of new digital technologies. He also completed internships at NautaDutilh and the Arnhem/Leeuwarden Court of Appeal. In 2023 Douwe was a trainee at the Delegation of European Union in Washington D.C. Douwe has published several academic articles, and written for most major Dutch newspapers: De Volkskrant, NRC, Trouw, Parool and FD. He is an outspoken advocate for more moral ambition among law students. As Legal Researcher at New Paradigm, he combines his legal skills with his social ideals.
